Agreements & Releases
Please read and agree to all of the following before continuing. All are required to participate.
⚓ Liability Waiver & Release
Participant/Guardian does hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless Homesteads for Hope and assigns from all liability, claims and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from Participants with Homesteads for Hope. Participant understands that this Release discharges Releasees from any liability or claim that the Participant may have against them with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from the Participants with Releasees, whether caused by negligence of Releasees. Participant also understands that Releasees do not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability insurance in the event of injury or illness.
You must agree to this waiver to continue.
⏰ Attendance Policy
Arrival & Check-In: Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled class time and check in at the Farm Store before proceeding to class.
Late Arrival: To ensure classes run smoothly and without disruption, participants who arrive more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time will not be permitted to join the class.
Cancellations: If you are unable to attend a class, please provide at least 24 hours' notice by emailing abbey@homesteadsforhope.org. This allows us to offer your spot to another participant.
No-Call, No-Show: Participants who no-call, no-show for two (2) classes will be removed from any remaining classes for the current month and may be ineligible to register for classes during the following month.

🍳 NYSDOH Certified Teaching Kitchen — Expectations
Homesteads for Hope's Teaching Kitchen is certified by the New York State Department of Health.
PUNCTUALITY: Arrive on time. Repeated tardiness may result in losing the ability to participate.
APPEARANCE & HYGIENE:
- Hair must be pulled back.
- Arrive clean and showered; avoid strong perfumes.
- Well-fitting clothes only — no oversized shirts, no shorts, no tank tops. Close-toed shoes required.
- No jewelry on hands/wrists (plain bands and watches OK). Short, clean fingernails.
- Phones must remain put away during class.
- Wash hands before food prep, after touching face/hair, and after restroom.
SICKNESS: Notify the Culinary Coordinator BEFORE class if you have had vomiting/diarrhea in the past 24 hours or any symptoms (cough, sore throat, stuffy nose).
Participants not following these rules will not participate that day.

Homesteads for Hope staff members cannot administer medications or provide personal care assistance. If the participant requires medication administration or personal care support while on the farm, they must attend with a support person who can provide those services.
